About Cape Cod Firewood

Cape Cod Firewood came into being before its owner, Conor Hynes, had graduated from high school.

In the early days, what Conor lacked in knowledge, he made up for in passion, drive, and work ethic. He immersed himself in learning about wood: the characteristics of different kinds and the best methods for processing to deliver product of the highest quality.

As the company began to grow, the young owner surrounded himself with people who embraced his enthusiasm for the work and for providing superior customer service. Today, Cape Cod Firewood employs a staff of seven, who are committed to maintaining the standard of excellence that Conor set in 2014.

Cape Cod Firewood partnered with New England logging companies, whose owners shared Conor’s vision of protecting the environment by embracing sustainable forestry practices. Conor invested in machinery, purchasing trucks, bobcats, and firewood processing equipment, including a kiln, to ensure meeting the needs of the company’s customers.

In 2019, Cape Cod Firewood took its next step when it purchased Holiday Hardwood in Hyannis, allowing it to serve more Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts customers.

With the company’s recent purchase of a firewood tumbler, you can be guaranteed you’ll be purchasing some of the cleanest wood on the market. Not only is our firewood spotless, but it also can be cut to the specific dimensions of your stove, fireplace, or fire pit.

Speaking of fire pits, Cape Cod Firewood now delivers and installs an attractive stone model, with a metal liner, complete with a quarter-cord of wood for only $999. This is one way the company has expanded to offer the types of complementary services that customers want and appreciate. Yes, we sell firewood, but we also do much more, including:

  • Land clearing
  • Stump removal
  • On-site grinding
  • Snow removal and salting

Cape Cod Firewood has expanded its client base to serve not only residential customers, but also contractors and other local businesses including restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and inns.

Over the years, we’ve made sure to share our success with the local community. Along with frequent giveaways on social media, Cape Cod Firewood donates to charities that are making this region a better place for all. Every December, we provide firewood to the Yarmouth and Dennis Fire Departments for their annual Homeless for the Holidays events, which raise money for local food pantries and to buy toys for children in need.

These are just a few of the ways in which Cape Cod Firewood gives back to this beautiful place we call home. As we continue to grow, we look for opportunities to make lives better and houses warmer through a shared commitment to our work, our customers, and our community.

Conor says, “I feel an obligation to share my passion for firewood with my customers. We keep our customers’ interests at the core of our company’s philosophy and are grateful to earn your business.”
